Streetsville is located on Mississauga Road (Queen Street South) five minutes South of the 401. Mississauga Road becomes 'Queen Street S' in Streetsville.
Within the Streetsville neigbourhood in Mississauga, you will find the highest concentration of the historic buildings in this town. This village has an interesting history in it. in 1818, a man name Timothy Street was given the task of surverying the final acquired tract along the banks of the Credit River that was ceded to the British Government.
In return, Mr. Street was granted 1,000 acres of land in new township, which in 1824 became know as Streetsville. The backbone of the new community was its five major mill sites located along five - mile stretch of the fast - flowing Credit River. By 1850 Streestsville in Mississauga was recognized as "Queen of the County".
